First step is to choose the type of Smart Kids tournament you want to organise. The easiest to organise is the local one. A student, parent, grandparent or a teacher can prepare and run a half day event full of fun and learning at the same time.
- Three levels: Local, national and international
- Participants up to 18 years
- No clocks needed
- 1-2-3 system highly recommended (1 point for playing, 2 points for drawing and 3 points for winning a game)
- National and international levels should think about adding STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) contests or chess puzzles to a chess tournaments
Local level tournaments can be run as a long term serie of small tournaments.
National championship is recommended for those who want to get better conditions for winners when attending the continental or world championship
International events are supporting mainly cross-border cooperation and friendship.
First Smart Kids World Challenge will be held when a proper organiser is found.
